A few links and a puzzle

Politics and Science, at SciDevNet
Ezra Pound's Cantos, Editorial or Authorial
From Slate, the unwanted sexual advance
The White House's logic in attacking Clarke, from Wampum

And the puzzle:
Mike and Todd have $21 between them. Mike has $20 more than Todd. How much does each have? You can't use fractions in the answer.

The answer later. This is from an interesting book I am reading, How would you move Mount Fuji?, by William Poundstone.

Via the Agonist, this story from AFP which is reporting that Pakistan has surrounded a high value target. possibly al-Qaeda's Ayman al-Zawahiri, the number two man after bin Laden. Let's hope so.

Agonist also has a link to this story from AFP. Remember when Rumsfeld touted his "new Europe". Maybe we need an even "Newer Europe", sans Poland.

Speaking of Rumsfeld, beware his 1000 styles. Via The Poor Man

On a lighter note, ever wanted to date a supermodel. Oh sure you have. Well, here is your site.

Compassion - Texas Style

Norbizness brings you the illuminating and refreshing tale of compassionate conservatism at work.
Bring us you're tired, you're hungry, you're... wait did I say bring "us"?

If it is one thing I hate, its them damn fetuses finagling a way to be born in our great state, just so they can get their baby food and immunizations on.

Thanks

Thanks to Roger Ailes (they say he is not the evil one) for a mention of the blog over there.
Thanks for visiting to everyone who clicked over. We have an ongoing series of Texas Images by Dog3 going on lately. Dog2 has been weighing in with her (non-binding) legal opinions. I, on the other hand, like President Bush, am so busy attending rodeos, NASCAR events, and fund-raisers that I haven't had time lately to do much but link to people much smarter than myself. Thanks for dropping by.

Links Monday

A few links today

Geoffrey K. Pullum at language log with a list of things he never learned in school.

Useful aramaic transaltions from the Guardian. (via butterflies and wheels)

And I have been meaning to do this for some time, but Bob Whitson at Howling At A Waning Moon, has been doing a really good job of laying out an explanation of the Bush administration's record on the environment. Browse a bit there.

And more about autism, via SciTechDaily.

Kuntry Song

Ok, I am adding this link to the do-it-yourself country and western song generator (via the virtual stoa). It is fun.
My song:

I met her outside Fresno ridin' shotgun;
I can still recall that little hat she wore;
She was smellin' kind of funny by the off-ramp,
and I knew that she would be an easy score;
I knew deep down I'd swear off booze forever;
She said to me her brother's name was Hy;
But who'd have thought she'd turn green in my Edsel;
She fell beneath the wheels and cried goodbye.
